About This Program:
The purpose of the pre-nursing program is to provide students a liberal arts based pre-nursing program of study through the foundational coursework credits and many of the pre-requisites needed for admission to a Nursing Program. The Pre-Nursing Program provides a holistic approach to the education of GMC students by emphasizing character education and critical thinking.
What You Will Learn:
- Students will be able to relate the functions and relationships among the various organ systems of the human body.
- Students will be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of human systems.
- Students will be able to apply knowledge of the growth, cultivation, and control of microorganisms.
- Students will be able to characterize host pathogens interactions and apply this knowledge to proper use of antibiotic/chemotherapeutic treatments.
Students are well prepared for admission to R.N. nursing programs throughout the state of Georgia and adjacent states. This program prepares student for completion of an R.N. program at a four-year institution or a bridge program at participating institutions.
