Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) Program FAQs:
- What can I do with a BAS degree? Whatever your technical area of expertise, this degree will help prepare you to be a manager or supervisor within your field.
- Why should I be interested in the BAS program? Organizations are seeking skilled managers and supervisors with a bachelor’s degree. Employees who earned an AAS or AAT degree therefore must earn a bachelor’s degree to advance into management and supervisory positions. The BAS degree, a legitimate bachelor’s degree for jobs that require one, solves this problem by allowing you to build on your technical degree to earn a bachelor’s in Business Management or Supervision and Management. In addition, your earning potential with a bachelor’s degree is significantly higher than with an associate’s degree alone.
- Will all my AAS/AAT course credits transfer? Most courses will transfer into GMC’s BAS program. Student transcripts must be reviewed for approved credits within their specific technical courses. Students may be required to complete some additional courses to meet our degree requirements.
- If I have an AAS/AAT degree, how long will it take to complete the BAS degree? Five quarters if full-time. The number of quarters will vary based upon the number of your AAS/AAT course credits that transfer into the degree program.
